Abstract

The learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education and Characteristics for Class IV students with mental retardation at SLB Muhammadiyah Dekso have not shown satisfactory results. The minimum learning completeness score that must be achieved by students is 70, but only 38% of students can achieve a KKM score of 70. In other words, 62% of students have a final learning score below the KKM. Therefore, in implementing the curriculum, Islamic Religious Education teachers must be able to use approaches, and methods that are varied by the learning material provided and the characteristics of students. The research aims to improve the learning outcomes of prayer materials for mentally retarded students. One learning model that is thought to be able to improve student learning outcomes in PAI-BP learning is the demonstration method. From the results of the questionnaire regarding students' attitudes towards learning strategies through the Raya Demonstration method, 53% strongly agreed, 36% agreed, and sometimes 11% agreed. Some of the findings above mean that demonstrations can be used as an alternative in choosing learning methods to improve student learning outcomes about the material for salat fardlu procedures.
