Abstract

The purpose of the classroom action research carried out was to determine children's ability to pray before and after eating and to determine the effect of applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model on increasing children's ability to pray before and after eating in class IV students with mental retardation at SLB Krida Mulia 1 Rongkop. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research with three cycles where each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The results showed that the children's ability to pray before and after eating experienced a very good increase after being given action in the form of applying the contextual learning model or the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model. Therefore it can be concluded that the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model in learning activities can improve children's ability to pray before and after eating.
