This study aims to determine the increase in memorization ability in blind children through the Istima' method for class IV SLB Negeri I Gunungkidul students. The approach used in this research is classroom action research with 2 cycles. The subjects in this study were blind children at SLB Negeri 1 Gunungkidul in the 2019-2020 academic year with four children as subjects. The criteria for research subjects were students with visual impairments. The research was conducted at SLB Negeri 1 Gunungkidul. The data collection method used tested, observations that occurred in the field during the research process an,d documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative. This research was successful if the indicators of learning success were fulfilled by 75% of students being able to practice memorization properly and correctly from the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) score of 75 in the eyes of Islamic Religious Education at Gunungkidul 1 State Special School. The results of the evaluation in cycle II showed that the percentage score achieved by the subjects was 75%. This means that the success criteria can be achieved. Based on the results that have been achieved by the subject, the action hypothesis which states that memorization can be increased by using the Istima' method can be accepted.
