Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning achievement of Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti (PAI-BP) elements of Fiqh with fasting material through the Make-A-Match Model for mentally retarded children in grade IX at SLB Wiyata Dharma 4 Godean. The approach used in this research is classroom action research with 2 cycles. The subjects in this study were 4 mentally retarded students in class IX with the initials NN, AD, NR, and MI. The data collection method used tested, observations that occurred in the field during the research process and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. The results showed that the use of the Make-A-Match method in the PAI-BP learning process could improve PAI-BP learning achievement on fasting material in class IX subjects at SLB Wiyata Dharma 4 Godean. This was shown when the subject's teaching and learning process became more active, adding confidence in showing the correct question cards and answer cards. The increase in student learning achievement was also shown by the increase in the average student achievement at the pre-cycle stage, namely 6.60 subjects who were declared complete learning (score ≥ 75) or who achieved Learning Objectives Completeness Criteria (KKTP) by 1 subject, with a presentation of 25% of students who completed learning with less predicate. Then after the action was held in cycle I, the average learning achievement was 7.18, and the number of subjects who had completed learning was 2 subjects, with a percentage of 50% including the predicate of sufficient. In cycle II, the average learning achievement increased to 7.70 and the number of subjects who completed their studies was 4 subjects who achieved KKTP with a percentage of 100% including a good predicate.
